Labor Day Weekend 2016 Raleigh, NC
Where did summer go? We thought it had just started and all of a sudden it disappeared! We are quite lucky to be able to enjoy summer-like weather for awhile yet here in North Carolina, but Labor Day marks the last long weekend of the season. We might as well go out with a bang and make the most of it! Since Raleigh is not too far away, Labor Day weekend is the perfect time to head over to the city and check out some available events!

The Princess Bride at the North Carolina Museum of Art
Where: North Carolina Museum of Art, 2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh
When: 8:30pm on September 3
Bring the whole family to watch this classic film featuring fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, True Love, miracles….all under the stars! Attendees are welcome to bring their own blankets, pillows, and chairs. Admission is $6.
Raleigh Seafood Festival
Where: Heritage Circle/Heritage Tobacco Pavilion, North Carolina State Fairgrounds, 1025 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh
When: September 3-4
North Carolina is renowned for its seafood, and Labor Day is the perfect time to chow down on lots of it! Shrimp, crab, and crawfish will be available, along with gumbo, a low country boil, and lots of other delicious foods! Live music will also be playing during the festival. Admission is $7.
