Davenport Autopark, founded by the late David Davenport as the Davenport Motor Company in 1929, originally started as a Pontiac-Oakland dealership in downtown Rocky Mount, NC. Four locations and four generations later, Davenport, still family-owned and operated, has evolved into two seperate, premier Buick-GMC and Honda dealerships, located on a 12-acre Autopark site at the intersection of Highway 64 By-Pass and Winstead Avenue, serving Rocky Mount, Nashville, Tarboro, Wilson, Roanoke Rapids, and surrounding areas.
Davenport's commitment to customer satisfaction has resulted in numerous awards and recognition, including Davenport being named "Best Automotive Dealership" by readers of the Rocky Mount Telegram for the past two years, being ranked among the top dealerships in the nation in sales and service satisfaction in surveys of both Honda and GM customers, receiving the highest possible Better Business Bureau rating of A+, and being voted "Family-Owned Business of the Year" by the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce.
Past awards include the coveted Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award (TMQDA) for North Carolina, GM's Service Excellence Award and Honda's prestigious President's Award (twice).
In 2006, Davenport introduced it's innovative "Dealership for Life" program, which has been such a hit with customers that Davenport is now ranked #1 in owner retention among all of it's GM and Honda peer dealers. Davenport helps United Way by giving a free oil change and tire rotation, and lifetime free car washes, to anyone who pledges their "Care Share", and one lucky donor even wins a free car for a year!
