For 2017, the GMC Acadia is available with two engine options.

The first choice is a 193 horsepower 2.5L DOHC 4-cylinder SIDI with VVT that delivers a 1,000-pound towing capacity and an estimated 21 mpg-city/26 mpg-highway fuel economy.

The second available engine is a 310 horsepower 3.6L V6 SIDI DOHC with VVT that has the strength to tow up to 4,000 pounds. The estimated fuel economy with this engine is 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

While front-wheel drive is the standard drivetrain for the 2017 GMC Acadia, all-wheel drive is available. This drivetrain offers additional power and traction, which is extremely helpful when trekking on snow-covered roads.
